How To Make The Solomon Knot Stitch
pp81d9e333.jpg
This stitch is used a lot in shawls and hat where you want an open and lace like took to  your piece.
When I first learned how to do the Solomon Knot I got bogged down with the terminology used to describe the parts of the stitch.  Once I over came that, I found it a very easy stitch to do.  In these instructions I say make one knot or make two knots which will become clear in the step-by-step photos.
   For this example:
ROW 1: With yarn and hook ch-23, sc 2nd ch from hook, sc ea ch across, ch-1, turn.  (22 sts)
ROW 2: Sc 1st st, (knot, sk 2 sts, sc next st) across, turn.
ROW 3: (2 knots, sk 1st sc of 1st knot, sc in sc of next knot) across, turn.
ROW 4: (2 knots, sc in free sc bet knots previous row) across, turn.
Row 4 is repeated for size.
